Best friends, a space station, a three-headed cat – and you’ve got a fantastic middle grade graphic novel. Though I enjoyed Sanity and Tallulah as a pair – and their mistakes truly show their age, I kept wondering how it took so long for anyone to notice what they were doing. I guess it’s a sign I’m getting old.
Colorful, diverse, and empowering for girls, I’d be shocked if this is the last we see of the two. Brooks has a keen eye. Her story and art meld well, and I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s an animated version of this coming soon. With sharp lines and expressive features, Brooks’ characters seem to lend themselves easily to motion.
